Halloween Week- Bizarre Wedding Trends.

This week, we will focus on bizarre wedding trends. Each day we will try to post something unusual or extreme. Please feel free to add what trends you might have witnessed in the past!

Thanks to the folks at TRENDHUNTER.COM we were able to reference a post about radical elopement.

Read more to see how couples can tie the knot by proxy!

Freaky!

Are proxy weddings the future of matrimonial services?

By proxy I mean either bride or groom, is unable to attend the ceremony, but the wedding takes place anyway. Someone usually takes the place of the missing person. A double proxy wedding is when neither shows.

One army couple took the proxy wedding to extremes; neither he nor she was able to attend, but they decided to wed anyway.

Barbara Hines, 29 was in Afghanistan and Ryan Thompson, 25, was in Iraq, both part of the U.S. Army. Their wedding was in Montana as it’s the only state to legally permit double-proxy weddings. The only people other than Montana residents who can qualify to wed under these circumstances are members of the U.S. Armed Forces.

The ceremony still takes place, with someone standing in for each person.

I wonder if you have any choice in your faux beau… a catalog to choose the best fake you, perhaps? Can the bride still choose her dress? Do they get sent a slice of the cake?
