Beat the Bridal Show Exhaustion

As the first official “Ask the Expert” blog begins this week and knowing that the Premier Wedding Showcase at the San Luis Resort in Galveston is right around the corner (mark your calendars for 3-14-10: www.premierweddingshowcase.com), I find it only fitting to give you brides-to-be a few tips to beat the bridal show exhaustion.

1. Pre-registering for most bridal shows will save you money! Off to a good start!

2. Shine up that ring and wear comfy shoes! Trust me; tennis shoes are the way to go.

3. Bring a bag on wheels. There are lots of goodies at the show and you want to make it home without an expensive massage therapy bill following!

4. Your bridal show survival kit must include the following: camera: remember what you liked, black sharpie: write down what each vendor promises, address labels: include your address, phone number, and your email address, appointment book: to schedule vendor appointments, and don’t forget a snack and a beverage!

5. Take a look at the vendors that will be represented at the show and do your research early. Save time by making a list of the vendors you are interested in and skip over vendors that you already have contracted or don’t fit your vision, budget, or needs.

6. Ask if a vendor is willing to extend their bridal show discount to you even if you don’t book at the show. Pull out your appointment book and schedule a time to meet as a sign of good will. Most will be happy to extend their offer.

7. Enter to Win! In most cases, exhibitors offer cash, rewards or discounts on services in exchange for your contact information. However, you can't win if you don't register!

8. And last, but not least, bring a girlfriend or your mom or the bunko club who will enjoy this time with you. If that is your fiancé, then great, bring him along for the ride, but save the drama if he would rather not. You will have more fun!
