The Importance of Wedding Insurance

If you are confused as to whether or not you should purchase an insurance policy for your wedding, don't be. Consider: The underlying pathology behind purchasing an insurance policy is to remain safeguarded against unexpected events or disasters. As such, taking out a policy for your special event is one precaution that should not be overlooked.

As an engaged couple, you and your fiancé(e) need to take into account all of the expenses which go along with your upcoming occasion. As is, there are a variety of factors which can affect the wedding ceremony. This insurance cover protects the lifetime savings of the marrying couple, thus helping to keep a check on the costs. Many a time, newlyweds have been held financially accountable for the damages which take place on this very important day. Thus, this policy acts like a guaranteed coverage that all the future nuptials take place without any problems and handles all unplanned expenses.

There are a variety of risks and factors which may pose a threat to even the best made plans. Different types of insurance provide coverage for specific problems, such as reimbursement of fees related to the postponement. Unfortunately for the father of the bride, however, he has no other alternative left but to bear the losses due to the change in the date of the wedding. Some insurance plans provide coverage for additional clauses especially if the key wedding participants are unable to attend the wedding due to an emergency situation –such as the photographer is not able to make it for the wedding, or the cancellation of the wedding venue forcing the event planner to make alternate changes to the wedding date. Such unexpected expenses are eligible for coverage if you buy the appropriate insurance cover.

For the ceremony, the bride may have to use rented accessories or purchase them outright. If these items are damaged or misplaced, then your policy will cover them. Wedding rings are one brand of item that is notorious for being damaged or lost! As such, there are specific plans which cover such expensive objects.

And finally, this special insurance provides coverage if your guests are injured during the reception or the wedding, thus protecting newlyweds from all legal costs or expenses that might arise should the guests choose to sue. It would also come in handy should you and your fiancé(e) be considering a destination wedding.

Wedding liability insurance is a must, of which every couple should give considerable thought and attention to.

This is a great article on wedding insurance and covers most of the main issues well. Liability insurance is an interesting one - we don't see it so much here in the UK but in the US it does appear to be much more common. I believe some policies even specifically cover things such a liquor liability.
