We begin our bachelorette blog series with an important cardinal rule of bachelorette party planning: Leave it to the Maid of Honor. It's true, with all the bride must worry about, she's going to need her trusty best friend, sister, most valued co-worker/teammate to pick up the slack and direct the ship when it comes to planning her last wild night on the town as a single girl. That said; head-lady-in-waiting...this blog's for you!
The key to planning an unforgettable bridal party is (drumroll please....) pre-planning! This means your calendar has to become your best friend in the days leading up to the wedding. You want to make sure and have the following done...
3 months before:
* Save the Date: Send out invitations to all girls who would make that night one for the books! Make sure everyone has enough time to RSVP, set up baby-sitting arrangements and warn the hubby not to wait up. Also, this will give the bride the window she needs to plan around the party that way, her plans won't clash with yours.
*Find Out What She Wants: You will need to know if your bride prefers sweet to sexy, Diablo to Disney or...well, you get the point. Make sure the party won't shock and awe her, unless she wants it that way. Take her personality and the personalities of the other guests into account. You want the night to be fun for all!
2 months before:
*Book your talent- Your party won't be the only one in town mysteriously happened upon by a rogue police officer in reeeeally short shorts. It's important to know anyone or thing you'll need to carry the night's theme will be ready and available to appear. This also goes for fog machines, margarita mixers and any other outside entity needed to bring out the best of the fest!
*Send confirmation- "Save the Date" emails to all invited to insure there are no schedule conflicts and everyone is aware of the event.
*Find/Hire a D.D.- It's no secret, brides like to kick back a drink or two during their single lady swan song. Since bachelorette parties and alchohol are two peas of an inseparable pod, find a designated driver well in advance. If this means hiring a limousine or shuttle service, so be it. You want the most fun night of the bride's life to also be the safest!
Alright MOH's, these are just a few of the must-do's so check in next time for pt. 2. of the Bachelorette Bonanza: Party Planning Checklist. Remember, you can always find wedding planning tips, vendors and more at PremierBrideHouston.com
